Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

The Short Version

Eidolon is designed from the ground up to protect your privacy. The software runs entirely on your machine. We never see, access, store, or transmit your personal data. Full stop.

1. What Eidolon Collects

Nothing. The Eidolon application does not collect any data. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reports, no usage tracking, and no phone-home mechanisms of any kind. Your conversations, observations, personal model, email credentials, and all other data remain exclusively on your local machine.

2. What This Website Collects

This website (eidolonai.com) may collect:

  • Payment information: Processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details. See Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Email address: If you provide one during purchase, for order confirmation and product updates only.
  • Server logs: Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security purposes. Retained for 30 days.

We do not use cookies for tracking. We do not use third-party analytics.

3. Cloud-Routed Models

Eidolon supports optional cloud-routed LLM models (identified by a ":cloud" suffix in the model name). When you choose to use these models, your messages and context data are transmitted to the model provider's servers. This is your choice — Eidolon warns you explicitly before using a cloud model. We have no control over the model provider's data handling. For fully private operation, use local models only.

4. Data Portability

All data generated by Eidolon can be exported at any time in open formats (JSON and Apache Parquet). You own your data completely and can take it with you.

5. Children's Privacy

Eidolon is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices. Significant changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
